Rhythm, beats and melodies…. are you the enthusiastic music teacher that will inspire and challenge our diverse group of international students? For a regular vacancy 0.4 FTE we are looking for a qualified Primary School Music Teacher.

The job
We are seeking an enthusiastic, skilled and qualified Music Teacher to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will guide students through rich musical learning experiences that develop their understanding of music theory and practice, while inspiring a lifelong love of music.

Through an inquiry-based and transdisciplinary approach, you will plan and deliver engaging lessons that connect music to the PYP Units of Inquiry, integrating rhythm, melody, performance, and composition. Students will learn through doing—singing, playing, creating, and reflecting— developing not only musical skills but also confidence, collaboration, and creativity.

• Design and implement authentic, inquiry-based music learning experiences aligned with the PYP Scope and Sequence for The Arts (Music strand).

• Foster student development in the four learning outcomes of The Arts:

  • Responding – developing awareness and appreciation of music as a form of expression.
  • Creating – experimenting with sounds, composing, and performing individually and collaboratively.
  • Connecting – relating music to personal experiences, cultures, and other disciplines.
  • Reflecting – evaluating and discussing musical ideas and performances.
  • • Integrate music theory and practical skills in ways that are engaging, hands-on, and developmentally appropriate.

    • Support performances and exhibitions, such as assemblies, concerts, and PYP Exhibitions.

    • Collaborate with class teachers to enhance transdisciplinary learning through music.

    • Encourage students to express themselves with confidence, curiosity, and joy.
